ClubReady, a St. Louis-based provider of management and billing software for fitness studios and wellness clubs, has expanded with an acquisition.
The St. Louis software firm has purchased San Diego-based Aurora Multimedia Services, which has developed a text messaging application designed for fitness studios to interact with members and potential clients. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 2009, ClubReady is owned by parent company Clubessential Holdings of Cincinnati and provides software and services for boutique fitness and wellness studios. It provides technology to about 4,800 fitness studios globally.
"ClubReady is committed to developing technology designed to deliver a member experience that offers peace of mind to both the members and the studio, while also running the studio with ease and precision," said ClubReady President Darol Lain. "The acquisition of Aurora allows us to continue our mission of building fitness businesses for the future.”
Through its acquisition of Aurora, ClubReady said its fitness studio customers will now have access to a new tool to help them more easily connect with their customers. For example, it said Aurora’s texting messaging application can be used to send reminders about upcoming workouts and classes. As part of the deal, eight employees from Aurora will join ClubReady, which says it has a team of more than 100.
The acquisition of Aurora marks the second deal made this year by ClubReady. In February, it bought iKizmet, a provider of data analytics software for fitness and wellness companies.
