St. Louis-based Capital Innovators has backed six startups, including two based in St. Louis, for its accelerator program’s 2022 cohort.

Each of the startups will participate in a 12-week accelerator program and receive $50,000 in seed funding as well as mentorship. The cohort includes startups from four U.S. states and a company headquartered in Ireland.

“This Capital Innovators cohort brings together strong founders creating empowering and impactful solutions,” said Judy Sindecuse, CEO of Capital Innovators. “ We are proud to accept two companies local to the city into the program, but also excited to showcase the St. Louis startup ecosystem to the other four founders from across the world.”

This is the 26th cohort of Capital Innovators’ accelerator program. The companies selected for the cohort are

  • Campfare (Mill Valley, California): Founded by CEO Andrew Sarda, Campfare makes and sells ready-to-eat camping meals it says are “chef crafted, clean label and feature a long shelf life.” Its meals can be made by boiling the meal’s pouch in water for 2 minutes.
  • KADRI Clothing (Wells, Nevada): KADRI Clothing, led by CEO Katheryn Basso, is a veteran-owned startup that makes tactical clothing designed for women. Basso founded the company based on her own experience as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps.
  • oneKIN (St. Louis): The local startup’s focus is on developing technology that can be used by small businesses and entrepreneurs to help sell their products. For example, it has created a live-streaming app that is built for small businesses. OneKin's co-founders are CEO Marvin Francois and Chief Marketing Officer Jennifer Gomez.
  • Retrievables (New York): Led by CEO Jeremy Crane, Retrievables has developed a technology marketplace it says is designed to pair businesses that are owed money from their accounts with collections law firms.
  • Sobi Analytics (Ireland): Sobi Analytics has developed a financial planning and analytics platform designed for chief financial officers that have several clients. The company, led by CEO Brenda Jordan, says its platform uses artificial intelligence to help clients access data in a single source.
  • Wellness Wins (St. Louis): Wellness Wins provides a customer relationship management system built for mental health therapists and wellness centers that operate private group practices and employ several therapists. It is led by CEO Berit Elizabeth.

Since its launch in 2010, Capital Innovators has invested in 172 companies. Its portfolio companies have generated more than 2,500 jobs and over $400 million in follow-on funding, according to Capital Innovators. The accelerator program plans to open applications for its Fall 2022 cohort on April 11.
