Finalist: Capacity

Capacity, a St. Louis-based artificial intelligence software company, led by serial entrepreneur and former Answers CEO David Karandish, had a busy 2023. It acquired three companies, two of which were also based in St. Louis. Capacity in January 2023 announced its purchase of St. Louis-based text messaging software startup Textel. The deal's continued in August 2023 when it acquired St. Louis social media software Denim Social, while also announcing a deal to purchase San Diego-based speech and voice technology provider LumenVox.

Founded in 2017 by Karandish and fellow entrepreneur Chris Sims, Capacity has developed an AI-enabled technology that’s designed to capture and collect an organization’s information from various sources to automate support for customers and employees. Karandish said the acquisitions added new channels, such as texting and voice, in which Capacity can help customers automate their support systems.

What was your company’s biggest achievement in the past year?

We’ve experienced significant revenue, team and company growth recently. Notably, we acquired three companies – Denim Social, LumenVox and Textel – expanding our technology and talent. Two of those companies were homegrown from St. Louis. More than 100 team members around the world helped us post 80% year-over-year ARR growth.

The expanded team has launched innovative new AI products like Autopilot in the Capacity platform, which uses generative AI to read and respond to incoming emails and tickets. This is a real game changer for customer support teams who are drowning in emails, tickets, questions and more.

What is your company’s top goal for the next year?

It’s always been our mission at Capacity to free up teams to do their best work. We’re serving more and more clients in the Contact Center space and continue to build and acquire technology to best serve them.

Customers expect more than ever from brands – and tools from Capacity can help Contact Centers improve customer experiences. Today, whether providing customer and employee support, assisting agents or reaching out to customers, the Capacity platform is a complete solution across web, voice, SMS, email and social media.

Are you currently hiring? If so, for what roles?

We’re hiring for a variety of positions (specifically developers) - so keep an eye on Capacity.com for any open job opportunities.
