Honeymoon Chocolates, a maker of healthier chocolate, has come a long way from its start by Cam and Haley Loyet in a dorm room at Illinois Wesleyan University. In February, Honeymoon opened a new factory and retail store in Clayton as part of an effort at both expanding its nationwide footprint and elevating its brand locally. Honeymoon, which sells “bean to bar” chocolate that includes no refined sugar and is sweetened using only raw honey, has also expanded to new retail locations and closed on $300,000 in funding from investors.

What was your company’s biggest achievement in the past year? Our largest achievement was moving into our brick-and-mortar location in Clayton. This space offers chocolate sampling, tasting events, single origin ice cream, drinking chocolate, and of course, our award-winning chocolate bars.

What is your company’s top goal for the next year? Honeymoon's top goal for 2022 is to sell our chocolate in 200-plus retailers throughout the world. We currently stand at 160 and counting.

Are you currently hiring? If so, for what roles? We are not hiring.
