AI platforms, tech startups score big investments from Techstars Miami

Twelve companies were selected to receive funding and mentorship support from Techstars Miami.

The selected startups will participate in Techstars Miami Powered by J.P. Morgan, a 13-week accelerator program that focuses on helping founders reduce the time it takes to reach product market fit. Participating startups will receive $120,000 in initial funding and assistance in raising additional capital. The program also helps early stage ventures recruit top remote engineering talent.

“After a rigorous selection process, we selected the top companies based on their understanding of customer pain, ability to execute quickly, and the potential to generate over $1 billion in revenue in the future,” said Andres Barreto, managing director of Techstars Miami.

The program is supported by Techstars' $80 million Advancing Cities Fund, an initiative that directs capital to diverse and underrepresented entrepreneurs.

Boulder, Colorado-based Techstars is an accelerator and investment business that connects early-stage startups with capital and resources in the U.S. and abroad. The company reports it has accepted more than 3,700 companies since its founding in 2016.

The startups selected for the Techstars Miami program are:

accelEQ: The health tech startup uses AI to automate medical documentation for health care professionals.

Casalist: A property technology venture for real estate agents.

Cloudoor: The startup manages a businesses cloud and coding requirements.

CodeGPT: A platform that uses AI to helps coders and software engineers boost their productivity.

Devpass: The AI startup simulates coding scenarios to help technology workers improve their skillsets.

FortyGuard: The startup is building a cloud-based AI tool to provide outdoor temperature smart location data and solutions related to extreme heat.

Fuddis: An online marketplace that enables food creators to sell, manage, communicate and sell their products.

Gabu: An online gaming platform for kids that offers safe gaming experiences.

Iluma: An AI assistant for C-suite and management-level roles.

Question Base: The platform uses AI to help customer-facing teams find instant verified answers to their questions in Slack.

Rhetora: An all-in-one platform that helps sales representatives prepare for cold calls, assist during a live call and automate follow up tasks.

Smartsy: The platform uses AI to help small businesses instantly create on-brand social media graphics.
