Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt will headline the second day of the eMerge Americas conference next week.
Schmidt, who served as CEO of Google from 2001 to 2011, will appear in a conversation with Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, eMerge organizers announced today. The discussion will be recorded for Suarez's 305 "The How Can I Help" podcast and will focus on topics such as technology in education and Miami's role as an emerging innovation hub.
In addition to CEO, Schmidt served as chairman of Google and executive chairman of parent company Alphabet until 2017.
Launched in 2014, eMerge Americas connects technology entrepreneurs, investors, venture capital firms and more with the goal of transforming Miami into the tech hub of the Americas. This year's will take place April 20-21 at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
Retired NFL superstar quarterback Tom Brady will share his business insights in a keynote address scheduled for the first day of the conference. Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and Angle Bush, founder of Black Women in Artificial Intelligence, are also among the headline speakers.
eMerge Americas is anchoring Miami Tech Month, a series of conference and networking events occurring across the county in April.
