Boatsetter has a new chief executive.

Michael Farb is joining the Fort Lauderdale boat rental marketplace, succeeding co-founder and CEO Jaclyn Baumgarten. She will move into a founder role, after leading the company as CEO since its 2014 inception.

Since then, Boatsetter's marketplace has grown to more than 50,000 boat listings in 700 locations across the world, connecting boat owners, captains and renters in the U.S., Mexico, Caribbean and Europe. In August, it raised $38 million from investors to increase its inventory and enter new markets.

Baumgarten said Farb has the experience to take Boatsetter to the next level.

“Michael has an incredible track record of scaling multisided marketplaces and building software-based companies," she said in a statement.

Farb was previously CEO of Neon One, a software company that manages fundraising and operations for small and midsize nonprofits.

“As a lifelong boat lover and entrepreneur, I am excited to bring all of my skills, experiences and passions to help lead Boatsetter’s next chapter,” Farb said.

In 2021, Boatsetter acquired Fisher Guiding for an undisclosed amount, enabling it to enter the fishing charter market. Soon after, it launched Boatsetter Lux Charters, adding luxury boats and yachts to its marketplace of vessels available for rent.
