The 2023 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) kicked off in Las Vegas this week, with South Florida ventures among the companies presenting their latest innovations.
The annual technology convention is projected to have as may as 100,000 in-person attendees at the show, which runs until Jan. 8. CES showcases businesses — including manufacturers, developers and suppliers of consumer technology hardware and content — developing novel products and services. It also includes a conference that brings together business figures and tech industry thought leaders to discuss emerging trends.
Several Miami-area companies are among the more than 2,000 exhibitors from around the globe. Here they are:
- 1NCE: The Miami company is a provider of connectivity and software for Internet of Things (IoT) sensors.
- ADT (Nasdaq: ADT): The Boca Raton company is one of the largest providers of smart security alarms for homes and businesses.
- AWOL Vision: Headquartered in West Palm Beach, the electronics firm makes televisions and home entertainment systems.
- Blink Charging (Nasdaq: BLNK): The Miami-Beach based business manufactures chargers for electronic vehicles.
- CarePredict: Headquartered in Plantation, the startup uses artificial intelligence to track declining health in seniors via a wearable device.
- Magic Leap: An augmented reality headset venture headquartered in Plantation. This year the "unicorn" startup released its Magic Leap 2 headset for business customers. Saudi Arabia recently acquired a controlling stake in the venture.
- MindBank AI: The Miami startup has a mission to help users live forever through data by creating their "digital twins."
- Neocis: The Miami company is the maker of a surgical robot that can assist dentists during implant surgeries.
- SKYX Platforms Corp. (Nasdaq: SKYX): A developer of connected devices used in the installation of lighting fixtures and ceiling fans. The company is based in Pompano Beach.
- Ryder System (NYSE: R): A logistics and transportation supply and technology company headquartered in Miami.
