Founders have the chance to win hundreds of thousands of dollars in investments at eMerge Americas' Global Startup Showcase in Miami Beach.
One hundred startups will be selected to showcase their company at the two-day event, taking place April 20-21. Those startups will include a mix of university, early-stage and later-stage ventures who will participate in a multi-week virtual program and in-person grand finale pitch competition.
"As the Miami movement grows, we're excited to provide a platform through eMerge Americas to celebrate the stories of innovative startups from around the globe," said Melissa Medina, president of e-Merge Americas.
Miami-based eMerge is hosting the 2023 event in partnership with Florida Funders, the state's most active venture capital firm, and Atlanta venture capital firm Panoramic Ventures. Participants will have the opportunity to win more than $400,000 in investments, including $250,000 from Florida Funders, $120,000 from Panoramic Ventures and $50,000 from eMerge.
More than 900 businesses have participated in the startup showcase events since the program's inception in 2014. Seventy of those companies have collectively raised at least $1 billion in venture capital, eMerge reports.
Next year will mark the third year that eMerge will host the showcase in collaboration with Florida Funders and Panoramic Ventures.
"This partnership speaks to the ongoing collaboration across the ecosystem to support extraordinary founders building category-leading companies in Miami and across the Southeast." said Paul Judge, Panoramic Ventures' managing partner.
Miami construction technology startup Togal.AI received $420,000 in investments after winning the 2022 startup showcase. Founded in 2019, the business uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to automate construction estimates, a process that involves measuring the size of a project's square footage to accurately price the cost of construction.
Applications for the Global Startup Showcase are open until December 20.
