Miami Tech Month: 10 events you won't want to miss

April is here – and that means Miami Tech Month has officially arrived.

What began as a week of technology conferences grew into a month-long series of events jam-packed with meetups and presentations that celebrate South Florida's status as a rising star of the innovation sector. There's something for everyone in a month that features cryptocurrency seminars, startup pitch nights, happy hours and more.

NFT Week (April 1-3): Presented by TradeStation Crypto, the three-day conference features a range of panels and workshops on subjects like blockchain technology and decentralized finance. Speakers include Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, Vayner NFT President Avery Akkineni and Miami Mayor Francis Suarez. Buy tickets here.

NextGen for Chapman Partnership: Exploring Crypto-Philanthropy (April 5): How can cryptocurrencies actually improve communities? And what role can they play in philanthropy? Those are the questions that will be explored at this virtual event. Register here.

Bitcoin Miami conference (April 6-9): The world's largest Bitcoin conference is heading to the Miami Beach Convention Center, with speakers like billionaire Michael Saylor and El Salvador President Nayib Bukele among the featured speakers. Buy tickets here.

Miami Tech Happy Hour (April 6): This recurring happy hour at the Freehold in Wynwood will be held in celebration of the Bitcoin Miami conference. To mark the occasion, each attendee will be given $10 worth of Bitcoin for their Exodus Lightning digital wallets (there are also free drinks!). Learn more here.

Park and Bay Cleanup (April 10): Get out of the convention center and experience Miami's outdoor offerings. Presented by Algorand, the cleanup at Kennedy Park in Coconut Grove will benefit the Blue Scholars Initiative, an organization that connects students with hands-on marine science education opportunities. Venture Miami Hiring Fair (April 14): The tech hiring fair will return to Miami Dade College, Wolfson Campus in a bid to connect dozens of startups and established companies with local talent. The event is being organized by Mayor Suarez's Venture Miami initiative, which is dedicated to growing the city's technology and innovation sector. Register here.

eMerge Americas Conference (April 18-19): After a two-year hiatus, South Florida's homegrown technology conference is returning to the Miami Beach Convention Center. eMerge Americas connects technology entrepreneurs, investors and venture capital firms with the goal of transforming Miami into the tech hub of the Americas. Keynote speakers for this year's event include tennis champion and entrepreneur Serena Williams; Reddit and Initialized Capital founder (and Williams' husband) Alexis Ohanian; and Shark Tank star Kevin O'Leary. React Miami Conference (April 18-19): Organized as part of the eMerge Americas Conference, React will bring together more than 400 developers for networking and educational events. Learn more and register here.

Definitely Nothing Web3 Equity x Developer DAO (April 21): Head to the Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel in Miami Beach to learn more about NFTs, decentralized autonomous organizations (DAO) and everything you need to know about Web 3.0. Register here.

Incubate Pitch Night (April 25): This competition at the NSU: Broward Center for Innovation in Davie will include five startup pitches in front of a live audience of investors, supporters and community members. Learn more and register here.
