Meet the startups in Endeavor Miami's new climate tech cohort

Endeavor Miami selected 10 startups to participate in an accelerator program devoted to clean and climate technology.

The organization's new EndeavorLab cohort features ventures centered on everything from recycling land and sea waste to building electric vehicle charging stations. The two-month program will connect early-stage companies with mentors, workshops and other programming designed to help those ventures grow into successful businesses.

"They focus on tackling difficult climate change challenges affecting South Florida and other communities around the world," said Claudia Duran, managing director of Endeavor Miami.

The EndeavorLab accelerator is supported by Silicon Valley Bank and developer Tony Cho's Future of Cities, a Miami organization that advocates for sustainable real estate development.

Climate tech solutions could be critical to reducing global greenhouse gas emissions, which heat the planet. Last year, the Global Carbon Budget reported the world had 11 years to cut emissions to avoid the worst impacts of climate change in the future.

The startups in the clean and climate technology cohort include:

Algas Organics: A St. Lucia-based agricultural tech company that uses seaweed to make farming more climate resilient.

Carbon Limit: A Boca Raton business designing tools for carbon capture and storage.

Cycle Technology: A Miami startup that rewards consumers for recycling beverage containers via deposit return systems.

EcoRenew Solutions: A waste management service that aims to curb pollution by recycling land and sea waste. The company is headquartered in Haiti and has an office in Miami.

Hope Hydration: A New York startup that designs, manufactures and installs free tech-enabled water fountains to reduce waste and increase access to drinking water.

Imagine Farms: An indoor, vertical hydroponic farm that uses sustainable practices to grow large quantities of produce in urban centers. The company is based in Miami's Little Haiti neighborhood.

Lean Orb: A Miami venture that makes plastic-free compostable packaging for the food and beverage industry.

OBE Power: A Miami company building a private electrical vehicle charging network in the southern U.S.

Own Power: A Miami-based marketplace for renewable energy businesses.

The Addition Company: A Miami startup that is using 3D printing, material science and sensor technology to build living seawalls to combat sea level rise in coastal communities.
