Plantation-based Chetu aims to double its global workforce in the coming years to meet a rising need for industry-specific software development and support services.
The company currently has about 2,200 employees across its 15 global offices, including 80 based at its South Florida headquarters. Chetu will grow its local team once it moves into its new 188,746-square-foot headquarters in Sunrise.
Chetu CEO Atal Bansal said demand initially spiked during the Covid-19 pandemic when schools and businesses were searching for software solutions that removed face-to-face interactions.
"While much of the initial demand for solutions was reactive due to global economic and supply chain disruptions, much of the current demand that Chetu is seeing is due to the proactive desire for company’s to 'future-proof' themselves should any additional disruptors arise," he said.
The influx of new businesses and talent to South Florida presents more opportunities for growth, Bansal added.
Chetu reports it experienced an increase in clients over the past year as more businesses, especially those that rely on automation services, sought out reliable software platforms to power and optimize those operations.
Many sectors, like hospitality and finance, require industry-specific software development services offered by Chetu, Bansal said.
With more than $56 million revenue in 2019 – a nearly $9 million increase compared to the year before – Chetu ranks among South Florida's fastest-growing technology companies.
The company will move into its new Sunrise headquarters in the fall. A spokesperson previously told the Business Journal that Chetu will update the grounds around the facility by adding amenities such as fitness facilities, a basketball court, a volleyball court and walking paths.
