A Delray Beach startup for home contractors is one step closer to its launch after closing a $1.2 million pre-seed funding round.

Casa reports its software has been adopted by more than 700 contractors since it released its beta product last March. Its all-in-one platform, starting at $99 a month, helps contractors manage their social media, financing for customers, marketing automation and more in one website.

That cuts down on costs for contractors and helps them get paid faster, said Casa co-founder and CEO Santo J. Leo.

"Contractors can launch a powerful world-class website that is fully integrated into our back-office software solutions in a matter of minutes and without any technical experience," he said.

Casa will use the new funding to hire more sales and engineering employees. The startup plans to release a new version of its platform in the coming months that includes additional services for contractors, including quoting, contract management, invoicing and digital payments.

The company is among a new wave construction technology companies emerging to serve the home remodeling industry. Home renovations spiked during the Covid-19 pandemic, when more people began to build outdoor spaces or modernize kitchens and bathrooms while social distancing or working from home. Others are updating their homes to maximize the value of their property ahead of a sale.

The pre-seed financing round was led by California venture capital firms Hustile, GS Futures and Chaos Capital, a fund that specializes in investments in digital currencies and cryptocurrency projects. Casa has raised a total of $2 million since its 2020 founding.
