ThriveDX aims to expand to new markets in the U.S., Europe and Asia after securing $100 million from Prytek, an investment company headquartered in Singapore.

Coral Gables-based ThriveDX (formerly HackerU) is a digital skills bootcamp that partners with academic universities and businesses to train people for careers in technology. The company collaborates with institutions such as the University of Miami, New York University and the University of Michigan to train students for in-demand roles in cybersecurity, information security, digital marketing, software engineering and data science and analytics.

ThriveDX founder and Executive Chairman Dan Vigdor said the firm aims to "[train] learners and business leaders in the digital skills necessary to stay abreast of the changing technological times."

Finding qualified talent is a key concern for technology companies growing in or expanding to South Florida. Economic development organizations like the Miami-Dade Beacon Council say boosting digital skills education for students across the region is necessary to ensure they can qualify for the influx of new tech jobs expected to manifest in the years to come. Local institutions such as Miami Dade College have entered partnerships with companies including Microsoft, SoftBank and IBM in recent years to help South Floridians pursue careers in technology.

In addition to skills training, ThriveDX also supplies cyber and digital transformation programs to businesses such as Toyota, Microsoft and SAP.

ThriveDX was founded in 2006 by Vigdor and CEO Gil Adani. The edtech operated exclusively in Israel until 2018, when it began to offer its online training programs internationally. The company reports it has about 2,000 employees globally, including 355 based in South Florida.
