Seattle-based cloud automation company SkyKick has been acquired by Tampa-based software company ConnectWise.
ConnectWise announced the deal Tuesday. A ConnectWise spokesperson said SkyKick's entire 142-person team is joining ConnectWise, which now has about 3,500 employees. The companies didn't disclose financial terms of the deal.
“SkyKick's mission is to help (managed service providers) worldwide build a more successful cloud business, and we are excited to continue to deliver on that shared vision of partner success with ConnectWise," Todd Schwartz, co-founder and co-CEO of SkyKick, said in a release.
SkyKick raised $130 million in 2021 but conducted multiple rounds of layoffs last year. The ConnectWise spokesperson said SkyKick will keep its brand for now.
Founded in 2011, the company helps IT providers working with small and midsize businesses. It offers a Microsoft Office 365 cloud backup solution that is designed for IT providers. In addition to its headquarters in Seattle's Uptown neighborhood, SkyKick has offices in Amsterdam and Sydney.

SkyKick had raised more than $200 million as of September 2021 from investors like Morgan Stanley Investment Management, Hawk Equity, Trebuchet Capital and Schechter Private Capital. The company had roughly 250 employees at the time of its 2021 raise and planned to add 100 more over the course of the next year.
In March of last year, however, the company laid off an undisclosed number of employees, followed by 140 layoffs SkyKick disclosed in August of last year. Schwartz said at the time of the layoffs the cuts were meant "to adjust to current market conditions."
Schwartz and fellow co-founder and co-CEO Evan Richman are both former Microsoft executives.
ConnectWise, founded in 1982 and owned by private equity firm Thoma Bravo, offers IT software and services, including solutions for network monitoring, identifying cybersecurity risks and quote automation.
