Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT) has hired Pam Maynard, the former CEO of Avanade, as the first chief AI transformation officer for its customer and partner solutions group.

Maynard worked at Avanade for more than 16 years, becoming CEO in 2019. The IT consulting firm was founded in 2000 as a joint venture between Microsoft and the IT consulting firm Accenture.

Avanade announced Maynard's departure Thursday and said Rodrigo Caserta will take over as CEO at the start of September. Caserta leads Avanade's global technology business group.

"I’m proud of what Avanade has accomplished in the last five years," Maynard wrote in a Thursday LinkedIn post. "In Rodrigo Caserta, I could not be more confident that we have the right leader to step into the role of CEO."
