Accounting and consulting giant EY is transitioning to a new Seattle market leader.

On Monday, the firm named Christian Tinder as its new Seattle office managing partner, effective July 1. Tinder is replacing Tim Tasker, who has led the office for seven years and is retiring at the end of June.

“I’m honored to step into this leadership role with EY Seattle, a community that has been my professional home for 25 years,” Tinder said in a news release. “I look forward to developing our talented people and driving growth and innovation for clients.”

Tinder joined the firm in 1999, most recently serving as consulting principal. He has done tech consulting for large companies in multiple industries, EY said in the release. The firm has more than 950 Seattle-based employees.

“I’m thrilled to see Christian take on this role that makes such a significant impact on our Seattle clients, people and community,” Tasker said in the release. “Christian is committed to developing people."

London-based EY has more than 300,000 employees worldwide, according to the company. EY offers services in tax, assurance, digital transformation and customer experience, among others. The firm laid off more than 100 partners in the U.S. late last year, according to the Wall Street Journal, in addition cutting 3,000 U.S. jobs in April 2023.
