Seattle-based travel company Expedia Group Inc. (Nasdaq: EXPE) on Monday confirmed two senior leaders have left the company.
In a statement to the Business Journal, an Expedia spokesperson said Rathi Murthy, formerly the company's chief technology officer, and Sreenivas Rachamadugu, formerly a senior vice president in product and engineering at the company, have left Expedia due to "a violation of company policy." Both executives joined Expedia from Verizon in 2021.
"We’re actively searching to fill these roles and remain confident in our technology, strategy and employees. Due to confidentiality, we will not be making any further comments on the matter," the Expedia spokesperson said in a statement.
Murthy was named CTO at Expedia in May 2021. She spent more than a year as CTO of Verizon Media before joining Expedia. Before that, she was the CTO of Gap Inc. for almost four years, according to her LinkedIn page, and she spent more than three years at American Express before that.

Rachamadugu joined Expedia in September 2021, according to his LinkedIn page, before which he spent more than 16 years at Verizon. His most recent role at Verizon before joining Expedia was vice president of engineering and product at Verizon Media.
The executives didn't immediately respond to LinkedIn messages seeking comment.
Expedia's flagship site offers travel search and booking. Its other brands include Vrbo and Orbitz. The company generated $2.9 billion in revenue during the first quarter, up 8% year over year. Expedia in February announced it was laying off about 1,500 people, including 208 in Seattle. The company had 17,100 employees at the end of last year.
Earlier this month, Ariane Gorin took over as CEO at Expedia after Peter Kern, who took the role in April 2020, stepped down. The company in March announced Jon Gieselman, president of the Expedia Brands division, is leaving the company at the start of June. Gieselman also joined Expedia in 2021.
Murthy joined Expedia right as the company was focusing on decluttering its operations and simplifying its customer experience. She told the Business Journal in 2021 she was looking to accelerate that journey.
“It’s like layers of a cake,” Murthy said at the time. “Really building those foundational capabilities that are brand agnostic and partner-supplier agnostic is the first fundamental step to simplifying the ecosystem.”
