Seattle-based cannabis banking company Shield Compliance promoted two senior leaders on Thursday.

Jenna Meyer, previously the leader of the client success team, is now Shield's chief operating officer. Cami Cantrell, previously Shield's executive vice president of payments and strategic alliances, is now the company's EVP of administration and professional services.

"I am excited to celebrate Jenna's and Cami's incredible leadership with these promotions as we continue our work equipping bankers across the country with the tools, knowledge and support they need," Shield CEO Tony Repanich said in a news release.

A Shield spokesperson said neither role had been previously filled before Thursday's promotions. Repanich held the COO role for about four years before being promoted to CEO in 2022.

Meyer has been with Shield for more than four years, according to her LinkedIn page, all on the client success team prior to her promotion. Earlier in her career, she spent six years at the loan origination company Baker Hill and more than three years at Experian.

Cantrell, meanwhile, joined Shield in 2021. She worked at the Republic Bank of Chicago for more than 12 years before Shield.

Shield was founded in 2014 by Noah Carey, whom Repanich replaced as CEO in 2022. Carey is now executive chairman of Shield's board. The company helps financial institutions manage risks and regulations around working with cannabis businesses. Services include helping with client onboarding, anti-money laundering compliance and transactional data.

Shield says it has worked with more than 65 financial institutions and has monitored $46.1 billion in deposit volume. Its clients include Oklahoma State Bank, Credit Union 1 and KeyPoint Credit Union.
