Brent Frei, co-founder of the Bellevue-based work software company Smartsheet Inc. (NYSE: SMAR), is leaving the company's board in June.
Smartsheet announced the move in a Friday filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, noting that Frei's decision isn't tied to a disagreement with Smartsheet.
Frei co-founded the company in 2005 but is now the founder and CEO of TerraClear, a company that helps farmers remove rocks.
“Smartsheet wouldn’t have come into existence without Brent. Since transitioning from an operating role at the company in 2016, he has served as a valuable member of our board," Smartsheet CEO Mark Mader said in a release.
Frei founded TerraClear in 2017, according to his LinkedIn page. He also spent two years at the Bellevue-based research and patent firm Intellectual Ventures from 2005 to 2007, his LinkedIn page notes.
