Ultrasound company Fujifilm Sonosite in December renewed the lease on its 122,000-square-foot headquarters in Bothell.

A spokesperson confirmed the renewal on Wednesday, adding that the lease is for five years. Fujifilm Sonosite has about 450 employees working out of the headquarters, located at the Bothell Highlands Center in Canyon Park.

According to the Fujifilm Sonosite spokesperson, the headquarters has a whole facility dedicated to making the technology, as well as production and research and development.

Sonosite was founded in 1998, and Fujifilm Holdings Corp. acquired the company in 2012 for $995 million. Fujifilm Sonosite makes a variety of portable ultrasound systems, as well as transducers, accessories and software. According to the company, more than 125,000 of its ultrasound machines have been installed worldwide.

Richard Fabian took over as CEO of Fujifilm Sonosite in July 2022. He has been with the company since 2017, including in his initial roles as president and chief operating officer. Before joining Fujifilm Sonosite, Fabian spent more than 14 years at Philips Healthcare and held multiple vice president roles, according to his LinkedIn page.
