Seattle-based sales software company Highspot has named former Microsoft executive Bhrighu Sareen as the company's president of product and engineering.

Sareen spent 17 years at Microsoft before taking his new role at Highspot, which was announced Thursday. He was most recently the corporate vice president of Microsoft Teams.

"Leaving a company that’s been my home for nearly two decades was not an easy decision. But I’ve always been drawn to tackling complex challenges — and Highspot is exactly that kind of opportunity," Sareen wrote in a blog post announcing the move.

Sareen held the corporate vice president role of Microsoft Teams for more than two years, according to his LinkedIn page, before which he was the general manager of the meeting platform for more than three years. He spent time in a variety of management roles before that.

Highspot, founded in 2012, helps sales reps with content management, guidance and training. On its website, Highspot says its clients include big names like Adobe, Zillow and Aetna. The company raised $200 million in February 2021 and followed that up with a $248 million round in January, which pushed the company's value to $3.5 billion. Highspot has offices in London, Munich, Paris and Sydney, in addition to Seattle.

"I have tremendous respect for Highspot’s leadership and will support the vision they’ve laid out for the company with a focus on the fundamentals: driving product innovation and user delight," Sareen wrote in the blog post.

Highspot added multiple key people to its leadership team at the end of last year. In December, the company named Arvind Prakash as vice president of product management, John Zhang as vice president of engineering, Julie Valenti as vice president of account management and Kelly Lewis as vice president of revenue enablement. In September 2021, Highspot added Amy Johnson, who brought experience from Bungie and VMware, as the company's new chief people officer.
