Seattle-based remittance company Remitly Global Inc. (Nasdaq: RELY) has named Rina Hahn as the company's new chief marketing officer.
Hahn joined Remitly in 2018 as the director of digital marketing but was most recently the company's vice president of growth.
“Rina’s dedication to our mission to help solve these problems for our customers has been inspiring," Matt Oppenheimer, co-founder and CEO of Remitly, said in a news release Thursday. "Her stewardship over our customer acquisition and brand development has Remitly well positioned to capture our growth milestones along with a focus on continuously improving marketing efficiency."
Before joining Remitly, Hahn worked at the Bellevue-based online jewelry retailer Blue Nile. She spent about seven years at Blue Nile, according to her LinkedIn profile, and left as director of marketing.
Rob Singer, Remitly's previous CMO, will stay at Remitly as an adviser through September. He has been the CMO at the company since 2018, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Remitly, founded in 2011, allows customers to send and receive money abroad through a bank deposit, mobile money, home delivery and cash pickup. The company launched a digital spending account in 2020 aimed at immigrants called Passbook, which doesn't require a Social Security number.
Remitly raised $220 million in 2019 and $85 million in 2020. The company went public on the Nasdaq in September.
Hahn is one of several new faces in the C-suite at Remitly this year. Earlier this month, Remitly announced Hemanth Munipalli will take over as chief financial officer on July 18 for Susanna Morgan, who will stay on as an adviser through the end of September. Remitly in February hired Ankur Sinha as chief technology officer, replacing Karim Meghji, who had been the CTO since 2020.
"I am as energized by this opportunity today as I was when I walked in the doors at Remitly," Hahn said in a news release. "We have a great team, a meaningful vision, and a real opportunity to improve the lives of hundreds of millions of immigrants everywhere.’”
