Woodinville-based audio technology company Tectonic Audio Labs has hired Fuat Koro, a former Bose Corp. executive, as its new CEO.

Koro previously led a team of 160 people at Bose, where his most recent role was vice president of corporate strategy and innovation. His division at Bose focused on planning and identifying new business, Tectonic said.

“I’m incredibly excited to be joining Tectonic Audio Labs as it stands on the precipice of monumental growth,” Koro said in a news release. “We’re currently living in the ‘golden age’ of audio, and (original equipment manufacturers) from across industries are looking for ways to create new listening experiences that elevate their products and help them stand out in the marketplace."

Koro spent more than 16 years at Bose off and on, according to his LinkedIn page. His time at Bose was broken up by a stint at Innosight, a Lexington, Massachusetts-based consulting company. Koro's LinkedIn page indicates he spent more than a year at Innosight.

Tectonic, founded in 2011, offers a variety of audio engineering and testing services. The company helps clients with electrical engineering, industrial design and manufacturing. Tectonic's website says the company has technology on the market with Google and Amazon's Alexa.

According to Tectonic, Koro has also held engineering jobs at Delphi and General Motors.

"The entire Tectonic team is driven by a passion for an unmatched audio listening experience, something Fuat clearly shares,” said Anthony Bontrager, managing director of WestRiver Group and the Tectonic board director, in a news release. “He’s a seasoned industry veteran with a proven track record in building long-term success, making him the perfect leader for Tectonic’s newest — and most exciting — chapter.”

In addition to Tectonic, WestRiver Group's portfolio includes local firms like Madrona Venture Labs, Tagboard and the Riveter.
