Bellevue-based tech and design consulting firm Fresh Consulting has acquired Glacier River Design, an engineering consulting company headquartered in Seattle.
Glacier River's 11-person team will join Fresh Consulting, three as full-time employees and eight as contractors, according to Kurt Daniels, Fresh Consulting's marketing lead. Fresh Consulting's total headcount with the new 11 team members is 401.
“Glacier River’s team has done world-class work, and I’m thrilled for our union. Our future is bright together and our combined capabilities make us one of the strongest engineering firms for hire in the Northwest,” Jeff Dance, Fresh's co-founder and CEO, said in a news release.
The companies aren't disclosing the financial terms of the deal.
Daniels said Glacier River's employees either worked on-site with clients or from home, and most will continue to do so. Only Glacier River CEO Jon Perrin, who will join Fresh Consulting as its embedded system director, will come into the company's Bellevue office. Daniels added that Fresh now owns Glacier River's brand.
Fresh, founded in 2007, offers consulting services in design, hardware, software and strategy. The company has done work with Adidas, Microsoft and Facebook. According to its website, the Fresh has served more than 400 clients.
Glacier River, meanwhile, was founded in 2009. Glacier River works in firmware, software, electronic development and user interface design, according to its website, and its engineers have backgrounds in medical, commercial and consumer devices. Its clients include Amazon, Microsoft and Boston Scientific.
"Joining with Fresh Consulting provides our clients with a more robust set of engineering disciplines enabling a rich set of full product development services," Perrin said in a news release. "Working with Fresh’s engineering and management teams on several projects convinced me that we were a very good fit with complementary skills and a clear vision for client success through high-quality engineering."
