Seattle-based international shipping startup FlavorCloud has hired Mike Sanchez as the company's first chief revenue officer.

Sanchez previously spent about two years in the same position at Bold Commerce, an e-commerce technology company headquartered in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In addition to the announcement of Sanchez's hire, the company said it plans to double its headcount by the end of next year.

Sanchez will focus on revenue growth and the company's partner program, according to FlavorCloud.

“Mike is a seasoned and well-rounded leader uniquely qualified to scale and grow a strong global revenue organization and round out our executive team” Rathna Sharad, founder and CEO of FlavorCloud, said in a Dec. 16 news release. “Mike’s ability to focus on driving long-term strategic initiatives with deep focus and understanding of e-commerce enablement stacks, his track record of building high performance sales teams, and his industry expertise will help FlavorCloud continue to deliver its mission."

A FlavorCloud spokesperson said the company currently has 35 employees. That's more than double from April, when Sharad told the Business Journal the company had 14 employees. The company currently has roles in customer success, finance and engineering listed on its website.

Prior to Bold Commerce, Sanchez spent four years at the WordPress technology company WP Engine, where he eventually held the title of vice president of partner and agency sales, according to his LinkedIn page. He also spent more than seven years at the cloud technology company Rackspace Technology.

The company, which launched in 2018, automates customs, tariffs and compliance to help brands with international shipping. TomboyX, Spiceology and Xbox are all clients of FlavorCloud. The company works with direct-to-consumer brands, e-commerce retailers and marketplaces.
