The Seattle area had a 1% increase in its total tech job postings from the second quarter to the third quarter, according to Dice's Q3 Tech Job Report.

The region had the seventh-most tech job postings of any U.S. metro, according to the recent report, the same place it held in Dice's second quarter report. The Q3 Tech Job Report also measured apply rate, or the percentage of apply clicks that result in completing an application, according to Dice, a platform that connects tech workers with employers. Seattle tied with Boston for second in that category, posting an apply rate of 7.29%.

Nashville had the best apply rate with 7.97%.

"Cities lesser-known as tech hubs debuted on the list this quarter as technologists continue to trade major tech hubs for what they hope to be greener pastures with lower cost of living," the report read.

The state of Washington, meanwhile, saw a 4% quarter-over-quarter increase in its number of tech job postings during the third quarter. Washington ranked 10th in states by tech job posting in the third quarter report, which included the District of Columbia. Washington came in 10th in the second quarter report as well.

Amazon posted the most tech jobs of any company in the third quarter, according to Dice. Amazon also held the top spot last quarter. Boeing came in 10th, down from sixth in the second quarter.

The Dice report analyzed more than 1 million tech job postings from July to September, the company said. As for occupations, there was a 31% quarter-over-quarter increase in job postings for cybersecurity engineer positions.

"For most organizations, the new normal will include at least some combination of full-time remote work and an in-office environment, and that, combined with the increased speed of digital transformation for organizations around the globe, means that building a strong cybersecurity function remains a critical priority," the report read.
