Seattle-area offices are going to the dogs.
Seattle-based Rover Group Inc. (Nasdaq: ROVR) released its Best Dog Friendly Companies 2021 report Tuesday, and the Puget Sound region took 13 of the 86 spots on the list of the most dog friendly workplaces in the U.S.
Rover polled companies across the U.S. and awarded points for dog-centric benefits like paid time off for new pet parents and pet bereavement, stipends for pet health insurance and adopting pet care services.
Rover also surveyed 1,000 people who are either pet parents or employees at pet friendly companies in the U.S. The survey found 64% of pet parents report companies with dog friendly perks care more about employees, while almost 80% said working with their dog improves mental health and wellness.

Amazon, Washington state's largest office occupier, was deemed the most dog friendly workplace.
“Amazon has been dog friendly since Day 1," Jennifer Skipper, Amazon's "woof pack" manager, said in a statement with the report. "Our dogs are a special part of Amazon's peculiar culture, and a mechanism for connection. We've found that dogs in the office actually contribute to our collaborative company culture. We are proud of this Amazon tradition and continue to welcome more dogs to our pack every year.”
