Digital marketing company Sendinblue, which has its U.S. headquarters in Seattle, announced Tuesday it has acquired three companies for a combined price of over $47 million.

The acquisitions include Bulgaria-based sales and marketing analytics company Metrilo, the India-based push notification company PushOwl, and a messaging platform called Chatra.

Steffen Schebesta, Sendinblue's North America CEO and vice president of corporate development, said the company is gaining around 40 or 50 employees through the acquisitions, and all employees from the acquired companies will continue to work where they are.

"We always acquire companies not only for the product or the market but also always for the team," he said. "We want to make the teams of these three new companies really part of Sendinblue. What they've proven in the past shows they have a similar DNA."

Sendinblue, which has its global headquarters in Paris, offers email and SMS marketing, marketing automation, and customer relationship management tools. The company, founded in 2012, raised a $160 million Series B last year.

Sendinblue says it has more than 300,000 active users. In addition to Paris and Seattle, the company has offices in Toronto, Berlin and Noida, India, a suburb of New Delhi.

In Seattle, the company is expanding its physical footprint by moving to a new, almost 12,000-square-foot downtown office. Schebesta said the new space has room for 80 people compared with 25 at the old space.

"We've been growing rapidly in North America, especially in the U.S.," Schebesta said. "It makes sense to add more headcount there."

He added that Sendinblue will take over the new space sometime in the next week or two.

Schebesta said Sendinblue opened its Seattle office in 2015, and the company now has more than 500 total employees, about 40 of whom are based in Seattle. He added that the company plans to grow to 1,000 employees in the next two years.
