What does your company/project do? Spira enables digital health companies to build "smart forms" which triage a patient and deliver previsit insights to a doctor. Spira was acquired by Galileo Health, an New York City-based digital health company, in early 2021.

How did you come up with the idea? Both Nikolas (Spira co-founder) and I have family members that are doctors. Growing up, we observed that a core part of their job is collecting, synthesizing and documenting data from a patient in order to make a decision. Since Nikolas and I come from a technology background, we knew that we could make this more effective by developing software that collects a significant amount of information before a patient talks to a doctor. Spira was born.

What advice do you have for young entrepreneurs? Become a master in prioritization. As a startup, you won't have the resources to bring your entire vision to life on Day One, it happens piece by piece. Your job as an entrepreneur is deciding how to assemble those pieces one by one. Therefore, having clarity on what to prioritize will give you an effective framework to build your business in both the short and long term.
