Early Money: A developer of microbial cooking oil and 4 other Bay Area startups raised a total of $130M in Series A rounds

Five local startups raised a collective $130 million in Series A rounds over the past week.

The companies range from a developer of fermentation-generated cooking oils to the creator of an upgradeable notebook computer that looks a lot like one of Apple Inc.'s MacBooks. Three of the companies hail from San Francisco. All five raised at least $18 million.

Here's more on those Series A rounds:

Zero Acre Farms Inc., San Mateo, $37 million: Lowercarbon Capital and Fifty Years co-led the round for this developer of a microbial fermentation-based vegetable oil. S2G Ventures, Virgin Group, Collaborative Fund and FootPrint Coalition also invested.

Metronome Technologies Inc., San Francisco, $30 million: Andreessen Horowitz led the round for this provider of a billing service for software companies.

Tint Technologies Inc., San Francisco, $25 million: QED Investors led the round for this provider of insurance software. Nyca, Deciens, Y Combinator and Webb Investment Network also invested.

Deepnote Inc., San Francisco, $20 million: Index Ventures and Accel led the round for this provider of collaboration software for data science teams. Y Combinator and Credo Ventures also participated.

Framework Computer Inc., Burlingame, $18 million: Spark Capital led the round for this developer of a lightweight upgradable laptop. Pathbreaker Ventures, Anorak Ventures and Formic Ventures also invested.
