Amazon Web Services (AWS) has selected more than two dozen startups founded and led by women for its inaugural accelerator for female founders.

The cloud giant will give each startup up to $250,000 in cash and AWS credits. Over the course of the eight-week-long program, Amazon (Nasdaq: AMZN) will also provide "an extensive and individually curated training curriculum, mentoring and technical guidance, introductions to Amazon leaders and teams, networking opportunities with potential investors, and ongoing advisory support," according to an announcement posted on Sept. 27.

Four startups from California were accepted in the program, including the following three in San Francisco:

  • Dreami, founded by CEO Ashima Sharma, is developing a platform for mentorship programs at businesses, educational institutions and other community organizations. Read our story from August where we feature Dreami's mission and backstory.
  • Alta Tools, founded by CEO Son Ca Vu and CTO Scott Ostler, is making no-code tools that utilize artificial intelligence to help businesses quickly design and deploy mobile apps.
  • Monday Hero, founded by CEO Nazli Temurtas and CTO Burcu Geneci, is creating low-code tools that convert design files to code, allowing people to launch mobile apps more quickly.
