Indigogo, the San Francisco crowdfunding platform, named Becky Center as its new CEO on Tuesday morning.
Center joins the company from HealthJoy, a health care startup where she was vice president overseeing product manager and growth since September 2020. She was at Groupon for nearly nine years before that, and she will be staying in the Chicago area, according to FastCompany.
She replaces Andrew Yang, who was CEO from 2019 until the end of last year. He left to become senior director of product management at Meta.
Indiegogo, founded in 2008, says it has helped raised over $2 billion benefitting more than 700,000 entrepreneurs, but its platform has suffered from missteps in recent years, as Yang discussed in an interview with TechCruch last year.
Center has a master's in management science and engineering from Stanford University and a bachelor's in math from Tulane University.
