I'm Sara Bloomberg and am beyond excited to join the Business Times and the Bay Area Inno team to cover the startup ecosystem in what's essentially the center of the universe for innovation.
I've lived in San Francisco since 2009 and have tracked the evolution of the city since then as a journalist and photographer. You might have seen my work in outlets like the SF Bay Guardian, 48 Hills, KQED and the SF Public Press.
Most recently I worked for the Asahi Shimbun, one of Japan's largest newspapers, as a news researcher covering the impacts of Big Tech on users around the world.
I studied journalism and photojournalism at City College of San Francisco and am a proud graduate of UC Santa Cruz (Go Slugs!).
I'm thrilled to be joining the team to share the stories of some of the groundbreaking startups and entrepreneurs helping to create the world of tomorrow. In particular, I'm passionate about finding and highlighting the journeys taken by underrepresented founders.
