A $45 million cash infusion for a network security startup led the pack this week for Series A rounds raised by Bay Area companies.
San Francisco-based Netography Inc. announced its extra-large early-round deal Monday. The company will reportedly use the funds to develop new technology, expand its distribution channels and boost sales.

Netography Inc., San Francisco, $45 million: Bessemer Venture Partners and SYN Ventures led the round for this provider of network security services.
Qordoba Inc. (dba Writer), San Francisco, $21 million: Insight Partners led the funding round for this developer of an artificial intelligence-powered business writing assistant.
Fountain Therapeutics Inc., San Francisco, $15 million: Eli Lilly, Alexandria Venture Investments, R42 Group, Khosla Ventures and Nan Fung Life Sciences invested in this developer of treatments for aging-related degenerative diseases.
PayZen Inc., San Francisco, $15 million: SignalFire led the round for provider of payment plans for medical bills. Link Ventures, 7wireVentures, Viola Ventures and Picus Capital also participated.
DreamCraft Entertainment Inc. (dba DreamCraft), Redwood City, $10 million: March Gaming led the round for this provider of a no-code video game development service.
