Early Money: Snoop Dogg's VC firm led a seed round for a cannabis market research startup

It was another big week for fledgling companies in the Bay Area.

Local startups raked in more than $35 million in seed funding over the last week. Among the investors putting money into the nascent companies: Casa Verde Capital, the West Hollywood venture firm founded by hip-hop star Snoop Dogg.

Here's more on that deal and the region's other seed rounds from the past week:

Evergrow Inc., San Francisco, $7 million: XYZ Venture Capital and Congruent Ventures co-led the round for this company that offers financial services to projects that promise to reduce carbon emissions. First Round Capital, Garuda Ventures, MCJ Collective and Skyview Ventures also invested.

Pistil Data Co., San Francisco, $6.5 million: Casa Verde Capital led the round for this provider of marketing and market research services for cannabis product companies. JW Partners also invested.

Cacheflow Inc., Sunnyvale, $6 million: Glenn Solomon led the round for this provider of a deferred payment service for subscription software offerings. Pelion Ventures and Neythri Futures Fund also invested.

Kalki Inc. (dba Zebec Protocol), San Francisco, $6 million: Republic Capital, Shima Capital and Breyer Capital led the round for this developer of a blockchain-based payroll and investment service. Resolute Ventures, Launchpad Capital, Backend Capital, Meltem Demirors, Gemini Frontier Fund, Infinity Ventures Crypto, Wave 7, Cadenza Ventures and Hack VC also invested.

UI Flow Inc., San Francisco, $5.2 million: Addition led the round for this developer of no-code app-building software. YC Continuity also invested.

Momentum Labs Inc., San Francisco, $5 million: Basis Set Ventures led the round for this provider of automated sales software. Inovia Capital, Leadout Capital and South Park Commons also participated.
