Welcome to this year’s Bay Area Inno Awards, where we highlight the work of nine trailblazing startups from across the bay. This joint project between the San Francisco Business Times and Silicon Valley Business Journal seeks to shine a light on companies that are taking innovation to the next level and have the potential to actually change the world (not just throw around the cliche).

We chose these startups based on their ability to disrupt their prospective industry and category, while proving a sound business model and resiliency to prevailing economic headwinds.

Here is the second class of the annual Bay Area Inno Awards divided by category:

Artificial intelligence - Weights & Biases
Aviation - Alef Aeronautics
Augmented reality - Mojo Vision
Cannabis tech - Nabis
Climate tech - Aclima
Cybersecurity - Dazz
Education - Swing Education
Food and beverage - Renewal Mills
Gaming - Volley
