Now that Jungle Disk has expanded its services after buying four companies in the past year, the company will now be known as CyberFortress.

CyberFortress is the name as Jungle Disk's former cybersecurity insurance company, which folded during the Covid-19 pandemic. Chief Executive Officer Brett Piatt said the rebrand is more than just a new name.

"I would encourage anyone looking for backup and recovery led by a team of expert recovery people to come give us a talk and we can work with you whether you're two employees or 200,000," said Piatt.

The rebranding comes as a response to CyberFortress' acquisition of companies KeepItSafe, LiveVault and OffsiteDataSync last fall from technology holding company J2 Global Inc. (Nasdaq: JCOM). The integration of these companies' services allowed CyberFortress to expand its disaster recovery, cloud backup and cybersecurity offerings.

Piatt said his team had already began thinking of a rebrand as a result of bundling its services.

"There was always an intention to consolidate the four businesses into one business as the backup market is changing," he said.

In May, CyberFortress purchased ElephantDrive, a service that helps store customers' photos, videos and other documents. The company is hoping to be a one-stop shop for data protection. In the past clients would need to select different providers for different services, according to Piatt.

CyberFortress is now looking to expand its services in the back-up of software-as-a-service applications. Piatt said the company has a backup service for bookkeeping applications, which mainly help small businesses. It also hopes to provide backup services for Salesforce (NYSE: CRM) data.

The company's corporate governance will not be changed as a result of the rebrand and neither will it affect any employment. The company still plans on moving to its Southtown office under the CyberFortress brand.

Jungle Disk was a finalist in the Business Journal's Business of the Year Awards in 2021.
