South Texas Drilling Roundup: BlackBrush Oil and Gas gears up to drill four McMullen County wells

San Antonio-based BlackBrush Oil and Gas filed permit applications with the Texas Railroad Commission to drill four new horizontal gas wells 14.6 miles from nearby Tilden.

The South Texas Drilling Roundup is a weekly review of drilling permit applications filed with the Railroad Commission of Texas over a 67-county area of South Texas.

San Antonio-based BlackBrush Oil and Gas LP filed permit applications with the Texas Railroad Commission to drill four new horizontal gas wells located in the Eagle Ford Shale. Each of the four wells is slated to have a completion depth of 11,955 feet. They will be located in McMullen County 14.6 miles southwest of the nearest town of Tilden.

Houston-based oil and natural gas company EOG Resources Inc., which also has a San Antonio office, filed for two new horizontal drills in La Salle County. Both wells will have a completion depth of 13,700 feet and be drilled nearly six miles northeast of nearby Encinal.

Karnes County saw the highest number of drilling applications this week, with 16 separate applications filed with the Texas Railroad Commission.
