Vaco San Antonio, the local office of Brentwood, Tennessee-based staffing firm Vaco, has tapped Dax Moreno to serve as its new Managing Director of Technology.

Moreno was selected for the role because he's been a leader in the technology and business communities of San Antonio for the better part of 10 years, Stephen Dyer, managing partner of Vaco San Antonio said. Previously, Moreno was founder and principal of strategic consulting and advisory services company Verity SA, which he founded in 2018, and Chief Talent Officer for Tech Bloc's Tech Talent Central from 2018 to 2020, working alongside Bexar County and City of San Antonio's Economic Development Department to create and develop the Chief Talent and Recruiting Officer program.

"His work in the role of the Chief Talent and Recruiting Officer of Tech Bloc was a great indicator to us of the kind of success he could have at Vaco," Dyer said. It's in alignment with the company' s goals, which are to become known as a technology solution provider as much or more than a finance and accounting solution provider, according to Dyer.

He began in his new position at Vaco in mid-April, describing the role as "creating the connective tissue" to help San Antonio companies with technology obstacles solve them while they work to grow or scale.

"(It's about) introducing Vaco, what we do and how we do it, connecting to those folks and those members of the community, letting them know we’re here and letting them know some of the services that we can provide to help them and make their lives a little easier," Moreno said.

Vaco acquired San Antonio's Aventine Hill Partners in February 2019, rebranding it with Vaco's name in early 2020. Vaco moved into its current office at 15600 San Pedro Avenue in May 2021.

The company has 45 offices, mainly in the United States with a few in Canada, and approximately 10,000 employees serving more than 12,000 clients.
