London-headquartered international law firm Norton Rose Fulbright announced Wednesday that San Antonio M&A and securities partner Daryl Lansdale has been appointed co-Vice Chair of the firm in the United States.
Given his experience as a U.S. managing partner, Lansdale's new role will include providing counsel on management issues, in particular developing the company's Business Practice Group.
While serving as U.S. managing partner, Lansdale oversaw 2017's merger of Chadbourne & Parke and Norton Rose Fulbright. Before that, he worked as the firm's U.S. Head of Business Practice.
Lansdale heads the firm's Central Texas practice and travels between San Antonio and Austin.
In his corporate practice, he attends to mergers and acquisitions, public and private financings as well as public company reporting and governance matters. Lansdale represents private equity firms, public companies, smaller businesses and family offices. He helps them with acquisitions and divestitures, investing and fund formation activities, succession planning and other needs.
Lansdale said serving in an advisory capacity in his new role will enable him to maintain his M&A practice and still contribute to the firm's long-term strategy.
He handled $5 billion in M&A transactions and financings in 2021. Lansdale also advised BDT Capital when it acquired Whataburger and counseled a San Antonio Spurs consortium of selling investors to Sixth Street and Michael Dell. Additionally, he represented Waddell & Reed Financial, Inc. when it was acquired by Macquarie Group and LPL Financial, Inc.
Norton Rose Fulbright's U.S. Managing Partner Jeff Cody said after working with Lansdale for years, it's apparent he has immense skills as a strategic advisor and will propel development of the Business Practice Group.
Norton Rose Fulbright provides legals services to corporations and financial institutions throughout the world, with 4,000 lawyers in Europe, the United States, Canada, Asia, Australia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East.
