New and Noteworthy:

Houston-headquartered independent oil and natural gas company Trinity Operating, LLC — which has operations in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana — filed six applications in the last week to drill new horizontal oil or gas wells in La Salle County. Three of the new horizontal oil or gas wells will be drilled in the Eagle Ford Shale, 12 miles southwest of the nearest town of Dilley, each with a completion depth of 8,000 feet. Three more are planned for a nearby Briscoe Ranch spot 13.5 southwest of Dilley, both with completion depths of 8,000 feet.

San Antonio-based exploration company BlackBrush Oil and Gas LP also filed two horizontal drilling applications for new oil wells, both 27.3 miles southeast of the nearest town of Cotulla, each slated for a completion depth of 9,015 feet. These two permits are for oil only.

The new BlackBrush applications come on the heels of a late February application by the company to horizontally drill a new oil well in the Austin Chalk in Karnes County, located just over 3 miles northwest of Falls City with a completion depth of 10,500 feet.
