Dura Software announced Wednesday the appointment of a new member of its Board of Directors: Alex Rozek, co-CEO of Nebraska-based investment firm Boston Omaha Corporation.

Rozek and his co-CEO Adam Peterson — who is also a Dura investor – have invested more than $460 million in some 65 deals since 2015 across numerous industries like advertising, insurance, broadband, banking, homebuilding and real estate. Rozek's past experience includes mergers and acquisitions, asset allocation and business operations.

Michael Girdley, chairman of Dura Software, said that as Dura continues its rapid expansion, Rozek's financial skillset will be an asset in propelling the company forward.

Dura has also recently received investments from other high-profile business leaders including Brendan Keating, founder and chairman of Logic Commercial Real Estate; Ryan Paper, CEO of Xpel Inc.; and Graham Weston, founder and former CEO of Rackspace Technology and founder of Weston Urban.

Rozek said that he was drawn to the Dura Software Board by observing how quickly its teams has acquired a range of businesses while building a communicative and disciplined company culture to fast-forward the company's growth.

Paul Salisbury, Dura Software's CEO, said that Dura has generated renewed interest from industry leaders because of its unique model of acquiring and optimizing niche software companies.

"The support and guidance provided by these entrepreneurs and investors will help us immensely and further underscores our belief that the Dura model is a winner," he said.

Dura Software's specialty is the acquisition, ownership and operation of niche software businesses. Based in San Antonio, it operates a portfolio of companies including 6Connext, dbtech, DVSAnalytics, Eventory, Lane, Moki, NordicIT, Vertex Systems and SecureVideo. In January, it acquired SecureVideo, a cloud-based software company specializing in a telehealth platform — its ninth acquisition.

With $28.7 million in revenue in 2020, the company landed in the No. 1 spot for the Business Journal's Fast Track Awards last year.
