San Antonio-headquartered private equity firm Contour Ridge announced Tuesday an eight-figure investment in TrendyMinds, a high-growth Indianapolis-based digital marketing agency — a move that could bring new jobs to the San Antonio region as the company opens an Alamo City office.

With the Contour Ridge investment, TrendyMinds will focus on expanding its capabilities and attracting talent, hiring more than 600 people within three to five years — many remote — as well as acquiring companies similar in scope.

Matthew Landon, Contour Ridge co-founder and investing partner, declined to disclose the amount of the investment. However, he said many of the 600 jobs would be in the South Texas region, citing the region's fast-growing population and his belief that many companies in the area have an unmet need for marketing services.

"In line with a major initiative of ours at Contour Ridge, we want to keep San Antonio’s best talent contributing locally instead of moving elsewhere to find these types of roles," Landon said.

Jenna Saucedo-Herrera, president and CEO of greater:SATX, said the partnership means new growth for San Antonio since TrendyMinds' emphasis on technology, biosciences and financial services industries aligns well with the city's core strengths.

TrendyMinds, which offers a complete suite of marketing services in industries ranging from health care to technology to pharmaceutical, serves clients nationwide. In addition to its upcoming San Antonio office, the company also has plans to open another regional office in St. Petersburg, Florida.

TrendyMinds CEO and chair Trevor Yager said that Contour Ridge's success building Deloitte Digital and other high-performing agencies made it an appealing partnership, as did its experience navigating capital markets.

Contour Ridge was founded by Dan O'Connor and Landon as a middle-market private equity firm mainly investing in founder-led businesses looking to grow while preserving their company culture. O'Connor said Contour invested in TrendyMinds because of its impressive roster of client partnerships and the way it attracts top talent.
