San Antonio-based Dura Software announced Wednesday it acquired California-based SecureVideo, a cloud-based software company specializing in a telehealth platform.

It's the ninth acquisition for Dura Software. Dura CEO Paul Salisbury declined to disclose the cost of the deal. Though SecureVideo — previously based in Alameda, California — will move its headquarters to San Antonio, its employees will remain in their current locations.

Throughout 2020, SecureVideo's usage expanded more that 30 times as demand for remote health care soared. The platform provides technology to behavioral health organizations, medical groups, hospitals, doctors' offices and specialty health care organizations.

"Jonathan Taylor and his team have created a highly scalable SaaS solution that enables a loyal group of physicians and practitioners to serve their patients safely and effectively every day," Salisbury said. "SecureVideo has a seasoned team that understands the health care market and how to best leverage technology to make the lives of healthcare professionals and patients easier."

SecureVideo CEO Jonathan Taylor will remain at SecureVideo's helm during its transition.

Taylor said the acquisition by Dura will provide resources and expertise to scale product capabilities, customer support and market reach.

"With Dura's assistance, the company will be able to rapidly add important features and functionality to our world-class product, amplify our customer-first culture and expand our customer footprint, all while maintaining the high standard of excellence we have always worked to achieve," he added.

Dura Software owns and operates a portfolio of companies that includes DB Technology, 6Connex, Lane, Eventory, DVSAnalytics, Moki, NordicIT and Vertex Systems.

Dura was founded in 2018 by Salisbury, a former Rackspace Technology senior executive; local entrepreneur and investor Michael Girdley; and the current Chief Financial Officer Chris Burney. The company has seen a 3,043% increase in revenue since 2018, the same year it acquired its first business, Moki Mobility, a tech startup based out of Utah.

Dura aims to acquire B2B software companies with high gross margins bringing in between $2 million and $10 million in annual revenue and have missions supporting critical business operations.
