Folsom-based power and utility engineering company Linda Rogers & Associates Inc. has been acquired by Qualus Corp. of Ohio.

Founder Linda Rogers is now director of client solutions for Qualus and a part-owner of the larger company.

“They are an amazing fit with us,” Rogers said. “I can’t tell you how many companies we looked at, and we did a lot of research. They are the gold standard."

Rogers founded her firm 30 years ago, and it has grown to about 40 employees. Its Folsom office will become a local office of Qualus, which has more than 1,000 professionals in the U.S. and Canada.

"When you are a small company, you have to do it all. By joining a larger company, it allows us to focus on what we love," she said.

Rogers declined to disclose the value of the transaction, citing a nondisclosure agreement.

One of Rogers’ firm’s specialties is telecom technology security and regulatory compliance. Her company also goes by LRAI.

She added that she was drawn to Qualus’ effort to be a powerhouse company in the power engineering field, especially in the transition to grid modernization and sustainability, which will be going on for years.

Qualus is growing. Linda Rogers is its fifth acquisition in a year.

Since last summer, Qualus has acquired four independent power engineering firms, including Ferreira Power Group in Florida in August last year; GridBright in Alamo in October; Enkompass Power and Energy Corp. of Ontario, Canada, in February; and Asset Engineering in Jackson, Mississippi, in June.

Qualus works with utilities, governments, data centers and grid operators, among others, in the power industry

“I like them because they operate the way I do,” she said. “They go in to help the clients solve problems, and they make a personal commitment.”

That kind of effort keeps clients coming back, she said. “I have clients that I’ve had for 29 years."
