Cloud-based K-12 education software company PowerSchool Holdings Inc. has partnered with EAB to provide high school students access to offers of college admission, scholarships and financial aid.

The partnership makes EAB’s college-matching technology available to more than 3 million high school juniors and seniors who use PowerSchool’s Naviance platform, which helps them with college, career and life readiness.

"We’ve seen firsthand the difficulties many students face during the college admission process," said Amy Reitz, group vice president of product with PowerSchool. "We’re thrilled to partner with EAB to make college admissions more accessible for more students, driving equity and support for historically underserved students."

Folsom-based PowerSchool (NYSE: PWSC) will make the EAB product available to its customers beginning in 2024. PowerSchool’s Naviance is available to 10 million students in the U.S., representing 40% of schools, according to the company.

Using EAB, Naviance student users will be able to create anonymous profiles to get direct offers of college scholarships and admission without actually having to file a formal application. Both companies use privacy controls to protect high school students during their college searches.

Since 2020, higher education institutions have used EAB’s Concourse to make almost 60,000 admission offers to students. Those offers included more than $2 billion in available financial aid.

Naviance helps high school students, their parents and school districts with career planning after high school. Naviance helps students — particularly from low-income families — get through the cumbersome and costly process.

"EAB is committed to helping colleges recruit diverse classes of students through best-in-class technology such as Concourse and initiatives such as College Greenlight that help underserved students access higher education," said Chris Marett, president of enrollment solutions at Washington, D.C.-based EAB, in a news release.

PowerSchool launched in Folsom in 1997, offering online tracking of grades and attendance. Over the years it's added more functionality and modules to support school administrators, teachers, parents and students. It now offers 20 different education and administration products, and supports 50 million students in more than 90 countries.

Earlier this month, PowerSchool announced its acquisition of Indian education technology company Neverskip. It was PowerSchool's 20th acquisition in recent years.
