Shoppers at the Westfield Galleria at Roseville will soon be able to take health tests on site.
Virtual health care provider Forward has announced plans to establish a "CarePod" at the mall. A CarePod is a kiosk-like enclosure that will allow patients to conduct health tests as part of their ongoing care through the virtual company. The pod will be located in a common area space near Round1 Bowling & Amusement.
"We're thrilled to welcome Forward to Galleria at Roseville and to introduce their personal and preventative health care to our community," said Jennifer Crowley, mall marketing director, in an email.
Forward is a virtual primary care provider that serves its members through phone apps, health monitoring through take-home sensors, and health coaching. The CarePod provides a location for patients to establish a health baseline used for care through the provider, according to Forward's website.
CarePod users can receive biometric monitoring, take body measurements, complete blood testing, conduct diabetes screenings and heart examinations, and receive mental health evaluations. After a visit to a CarePod, patients work with a care team virtually to establish health goals and monitor progress.
Crowley said the Forward CarePod is expected to begin operating in mid-May.
The Westfield Galleria pod will be the company's only physical location outside of the Bay Area.
