Dental practice technology platform developer tab32 has opened an East Coast office in Miami.
Rocklin-based tab32 will use Miami as its base of operations for sales targeted to dental practices east of the Mississippi River.
“We're investing in our own growth by building out the executive team, operational talent and national infrastructure we need to support our clients and keep on driving transformative change for the dental industry," said tab32 CEO Kiltesh Patel, in a news release.
The 2012 startup last summer moved from Natomas to a 9,000-square-foot headquarters in Rocklin. That office is large enough for up to 120 workers, though some of the company’s employees work remotely in the U.S. and India.
Tab32 had 100 employees in February, and it recently surpassed 135 employees, but many of its recent hires have been for the Miami operation.
In February, tab32 hired health care technology company veteran Daniel Masvidal as its senior vice president of operations. Masvidal works out of Miami, said a company spokeswoman, via email.
Last summer, tab32 raised a second round of venture capital investment led by Spark Growth Ventures of San Diego.
Tab32 developed and now supports and sells a cloud-based dental practice management platform that integrates patient communication, scheduling, digital forms, X-ray images, payment and patient records. The information is available in real time through multiple devices, and the platform includes security safeguards for patient information.
The software also supplies dental office customers with an online booking engine for patients to set up appointments. The cloud platform has a marketing component for new and existing patients as well.
