Electronics repair chain uBreakiFix by Asurion has opened its fourth retail location in the region, with a goal to have eight stores in the Sacramento and Stockton market in the next three years.

The company does repair, service and warranty work for laptops, tablets, phones, gaming devices and appliances.

“If you plug it in, we fix it,” said Kevin Encarnacion, regional manager for uBreakiFix in the Sacramento region.

The company accepts walk-in business, appointments and it has technicians and vans that work at customer locations.

“Technology is really important to people, and turnaround time is very important to our customers,” Encarnacion said.

In addition to repairs, the stores offer advice and tech support to people for their technology, such as installing virus scans and software, he said.

The Orlando, Florida-based franchise chain has 719 locations across the country and 82 in California.

The local franchisee, Pete Madsen, also owns uBreakiFix locations in Citrus Heights, Elk Grove and Stockton. The Elk Grove location opened in December and the Stockton store opened in October. The Citrus Heights store has been open for eight years. Citrus Heights has 15 employees, and new stores have about five employees each, Encarnacion said, adding that Madsen plans to add four more stores in his Sacramento and Stockton territory.

Since 2016, uBreakiFix has served as the exclusive walk-in repair partner for Google Pixel customers. In 2018, the stores became Samsung Care authorized service providers for Galaxy phones. It's also an Apple-approved center to replace batteries and screens, Encarnacion said.

Last year, parent company Asurion LLC said it would rebrand all the stores this year to Asurion Tech Repair & Solutions.

Asurion is a Nashville, Tennessee-based company that provides insurance and extended warranty coverage for smartphones, tablets, consumer electronics, appliances, satellite receivers and other technology.

In August 2019, Asurion bought uBreakiFix, which at the time had 500 stores.

The new Arden store is at 1537 Howe Ave. in Century Plaza, a section of the How Bout Arden shopping center.
